MISSION
The Downtown Palo Alto Farmers' Market connects local farmers with the community to support direct access to fresh, locally produced food. The Market provides an environment that fosters social gathering and interaction, and donates it proceeds to local community groups.

PRODUCTS
The Market sells fresh, seasonal fruits, vegetables, and flowers, along with other locally produced foods such as dried fruit, nuts, honey, fish, breads, pastries, jam, eggs, cheese, meats, olive oil, tofu, tamales, crêpes, sorbets, and more.

SELLERS
Approximately 55 farmers and producers from the Capay Valley, Sebastopol, Fresno, Hollister, Santa Cruz, and points in-between.

LOCATION
Gilman Street between Hamilton and Forest, behind the downtown Palo Alto post office. [directions + map]

HOURS
Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon.

SEASON
From the 2nd Saturday in May through the 3rd Saturday in December.

HISTORY
The market was founded in 1981 by a dedicated group of local volunteers to give downtown residents a place to find fresh produce. The Market has become an essential part of the community, drawing young and old alike to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, listen to live music, and of course, shop for high quality produce and other local artisan foods.

ORGANIZATION
The market is a volunteer-run 501(c)4 non-profit organization. Proceeds from the operation of the market are donated to Avenidas, a non-profit community group for older adults. The Market operates in accordance with Certified California Farmers' Market guidelines.
