Volunteering at the market

A positive impact on the community

The Downtown Palo Alto Farmers’ Market is unique in that it is a Palo Alto non-profit, run by an all-volunteer board of community members, that donates its proceeds back to the community.

The Market has donated over half a million dollars to Avenidas, a local nonprofit that helps over 6,500 older adults maintain their connections, independence, and vitality.

In order to support our mission, the market is run by a volunteer Board of Directors. This is a hands-on Board, with responsibilities including, but not limited to, attending monthly meetings, working shifts at the Saturday Market, and other events to help promote the market.
